Where can I serve at Ambassador?

Jesus told us, his followers, to make followers of all nations.  It begins in our own family, then church family, then neighbourhood, and even spreading overseas to the nations.  We are called to let the light of Jesus shine before all people so that they may see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16) People at Ambassador are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as folding church bulletins to preparing coffee and sandwiches to leading small groups.  Check out what is available and offer to be a part.

Outreach

Ambassador has a reputation in our community for caring for people. We express God’s love to people in practical ways: serving Breakfast club at Marlborough School, weekly Community Dinners, Food Bank and free vegetables (courtesy of “Forgotten Harvest” Canada) Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible Camp in July, March Break daycamp, BBQ’s, and offering the Alpha Course.  The message woven through these activities is, “Jesus loves you”.  The Alpha course provides a weekly dinner for participants and we are looking for those who would help serve in this way.

Children’s Ministry

On Sunday mornings, we gather as a church family to worship together.  During the service children up to age 11 take part in their own worship learning time.  We also offer a nursery for the young ones.  There are opportunities to serve in these areas.  Please speak to Karen to get more information on contributing to this key ministry.  To promote a safe environment, we have adopted a “Plan to Protect” policy, where all workers serving with vulnerable people require a police check and interview.

Youth & Young Adult’s Ministry

Growing Leaders

We take seriously the role of equipping new leaders who will embrace their specific calling of ministry both inside and outside the church facility walls.  This 10 month equipping gathering begins in September and is open to those desiring to grow in their leadership skills. We also see this as a preparation tool for those desiring to be in leadership at our church. We are using an excellent tool called “Growing Leaders”.  A promo of the material can be found here:

Worship Ministry

God-honouring worship is something we strive for.  Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists.  These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Ambassador Baptist Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  Speak to Dawn if you have an interest in being a part of this ministry.

First Impressions

The first impressions team at Ambassador fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors feel welcome, answering questions, providing direction, and helping those with needs. This team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.  Speak to Charles if you’re interested in making a difference in other people’s lives.

Sound & Visual & Website

Do you have a heart for running a sound board, operating our visual slides during the worship service or helping with our church website?  If so, speak to Kevin, Jon, Dawn or Phil. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Prayer people

Prayer cannot be overestimated.  Prayer changes us and moves the hand of God. As a church body, we are dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty.
